Ignited by Adam Frazier’s two-run homer, the Royals scored four runs in the 8th inning to retake the lead at 7-4. Kansas City closer Carlos Estevez forced Dominic Canzone into a double play to earn the final outs of the game, preserving the win for the Royals. The win pushed the Royals back to .500 with a 76-76 record.

The Mariners (83-69) will try to regain their winning form after failing to extend their winning streak beyond 10 games. The loss opened the door for the Astros (84-69) to retake the AL West leadership after sweeping the Texas Rangers this week.
