The Baltimore Orioles (31-36, 19-16 Home) will try once again to get back on the right side of the scoreboard today when they host the Seattle Mariners (35-32, 16-16 Away) in Game 2 of a three-game series during the week. First Pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. EST at Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore, MD.
Baltimore had hoped returning home could nip the losing streak at two, but the Mariners had a different outcome in mind. With the win, they improved to .500 on the road at 16-16.
Trevor Rogers will get the ball to start the day on the mound for the Orioles. Rogers is 3-6 in 11 starts with a 6.29 ERA and a 1.51 WHIP. However, he had a solid outing in his last start, throwing 5 2/3 innings vs. the Red Sox in Boston, allowing five hits and one earned run while striking out three and walking one.

Logan Gilbert has been brilliant on the road; I don’t expect much from the Orioles offense in this one. Yes, Trevor Rogers was solid in his last outing, vs. Boston, giving up a single run. But the Red Sox are not good this season. I wouldn’t call that much of an accomplishment. For the month of May, he had a 10.31 ERA, giving up four, four, seven, and six earned runs. Seattle’s lineup is certainly hitting well enough to take advantage of him. It will, of course, not need to do much, since Gilbert will shut down the Orioles' lineup.
