The Seattle Kraken visit the Philadelphia Flyers as they continue their Eastern expedition. After trekking through the eastern Canadian swing, it’s fair to wonder what kind of team the Kraken are really going to be this season. And that’s because while Seattle played one way at home, it has gone in a completely different direction on this road swing.
Seattle played defense-heavy against Vegas and Anaheim at home, but in defiance of the idea that defense travels, Seattle brought its offense across the border. The Kraken have fired home 11 goals in three games in the Eastern Time Zone, after scoring a mere five in their first two games against Western Conference competition. Given how Seattle usually plays against Philadelphia, more goals make a lot of sense here anyway.

Philadelphia is also a bit of an odd team to figure out to this point in the season. The Flyers have played pretty well on defense for the most part, as they have only allowed 14 goals on the year. But they have a negative goal difference because they’ve not managed to get much of anything done with the puck.
The Flyers have just one power play goal all season, and that doesn’t work against Seattle. Not only do the Kraken tend to find the net when they have the man advantage (28.6% of their power plays have resulted in a goal), but they normally play pretty solid defense. Even with the high number of chances given up in Canada, Seattle has still only allowed 13 goals this year. Our prediction for Seattle vs. Philadelphia is for the Kraken to win.
