The Seattle Kraken (27-20-9, 13-11-4 Away) will start the second half of the season in Texas against the Dallas Stars (34-14-9, 16-7-3 Home) on Wednesday, February 25. Fans can follow the action on ESPN+ when the puck drops at 8 p.m. EST.
Seattle went into the break having gone 5-1 in their last six games, including a 4-2 victory over the Kings in Los Angeles in the final game before the Olympics. The win improved the Kraken’s record to 27-20-9, good enough for third in the Western Conference’s Pacific Division with 63 points. As for Dallas, the Stars are also third in their division (the Western Conference’s Central Division) with 77 points (a much more competitive division). Dallas went into the break on a hot streak, having won their last six games, three of them vs. St. Louis (all one-score games).
This will be the third of three games in the series between the Stars and Kraken this season, a series Dallas leads 2-0. The Stars won the first game early in the season on Nov. 9, 2-1, and took the second one a couple of weeks later, 3-2, on Nov. 26.

Dallas went into the break on a six-game winning streak; Seattle, 5-1. So, both teams were playing well, and while Dallas has the historical edge in this series, it is worth noting that, more often than not, the games between these two are entertaining—like the first two were earlier in the season. Coming out of the break, I have more faith in Dallas getting off to a hot start than Seattle. I’m tempted to go with the moneyline (-162) since both prior games were close, but the +150 price with the spread is tempting.
