The San Jose Sharks (24-20-3) are facing off with the Florida Panthers on Monday evening before they head to Tampa Bay to complete their 4-game road trip with a game against the Lightning (30-13-4). These teams faced off earlier this month and the Lightning thumped the Sharks 7-3. Both Alex Nedeljkovic and Yaroslav Askarov had rough outings in the net for the Sharks in that previous meeting; they combined to allow 7 goals and saved just 19 of 26 shots. Darren Raddysh picked up a hat trick while Nikita Kucherov added a goal of his own to go with his 4 assists.
The Lightning are currently sitting at the top of the Atlantic Division and the entire Eastern Conference. Their play during the new year has played a large part in their position in the standings. Now, factoring in that the Sharks are playing the night before and will be finishing up a grueling 4-game road trip, our confidence in the Lightning is much higher. We would even play the puck line at -1.5 for a smaller price as well. We do not believe the Sharks will be able to slow down this aggressive Lightning attack and are likely to head home with another loss.
