The Blue Jays will play the Giants in the first MLB game of the afternoon on Saturday, July 19. Starting on June 29, the Blue Jays embarked on a 10-game winning streak that extended to July 8, when they defeated the White Sox 8-4. All of this helped them take the lead in the Eastern Division from the Yankees; however, they lost to the Athletics in the last two games before the All-Star break.

Notably, the Blue Jays have managed to increase their home run count over the past month, after having been practically last in this category at the start of the season. Weeks ago, Springer had a monstrously good series against the Yankees, and Vladimir Jr. is expected to live up to his reputation as a player who has a better second half than first half in his previous seasons.

Even so, the Blue Jays face two scorching tests: against the Giants and again against the Yankees in Toronto, before visiting the Tigers in a four-game series.
