Texas Rangers vs San Francisco Giants Prediction & Picks - MLB

The San Francisco Giants are finishing off their road trip with a series in Texas against the Rangers. The Rangers, conversely, will be starting a short homestand.

The Giants are coming off 3 straight losses to the San Diego Padres. They took game one before dropping those 3, which saved the dreaded 4-game sweep. They allowed 18 runs over those final 3 games and hurt their already struggling team ERA. They are 20th now in the league, which actually matches their opponents tonight. Logan Webb will get the start and has given up 21 runs over his last 5 starts.

While the Giants have had recent struggles, the Rangers have arguably had it worse. They are currently on a 5-game losing streak where they have been outscored by 18 runs. Cal Quantrill will draw the start for the Rangers here in game one. His 3.84 ERA is not the best but also not on the high end either. His last two starts were good but he is always susceptible to an implosion. That is what happened just 3 starts ago when he gave up 6 on 11 hits in just 4 innings. With the Giants having success at the plate this season, Quantrill will need his best stuff to keep this close.
