It's official: the Twins put their poor start to the season behind them and quickly leveled their record, now at 20-20, with tremendous solid play at Target Field in Minneapolis, where they have a 14-6 record. After beating the Giants 3-1 in Game 1, Ryan led Game 2, looking at his best again in 2025, and led the Twins to a 2-1 victory in Game 2. With this, the Twins have won seven straight and will seek a sweep against San Francisco before traveling to Baltimore and Milwaukee.
Many bettors believe they will complete the sweep against the 24-16 Giants. Mainly because the pitching duel seems conducive, the Twins will be opting for Venezuelan Pablo Lopez, who has a 2.18 ERA this season and is coming off an 11-strikeout game in his last start. Roupp will be the Giants' starter; he hasn't pitched six innings in any of his last three starts.
The Twins won Game 2 thanks to a Larnach RBI home run in the third inning. That game was a pitching duel between Webb and Ryan, with only nine hits between the two teams.
