After having a 1st half of the season to forget, the Colorado Rockies (34-63) will look to try and turn things around post all-star break when they play host to the San Francisco Giants (47-50). Losers of 6 of their last 8, the Rockies had been on a 3-game winning streak prior to that lackluster finish. In typical Rockies form, it has been the pitching that has struggled the most. They are dead last in combined ERA, batting average against, and WHIP. It is hard to pile up wins with stats like that. The Giants, on the other hand, were not much better this month. Currently, they are just 6-6 in July and have lost 5 of their last 8. Much like the Rockies, the Giants pitching has been subpar. They rank 28th in batting average against and 23rd in combined ERA. They will toss Chal Quantrill (6-7, 4.13) who has allowed a total of 18 runs over his last 23.1 innings pitched. For the opposing Giants, they will have Logan Webb (7-7, 3.47) throwing for them in this one. He is coming off his worst start of the season. He allowed 7 runs on 8 hits in just 5 innings against the Bluejays.
