The Giants and Reds lost on Sunday, had a day off on Monday, and will play an intriguing series against each other on Tuesday in Cincinnati.
The Giants were already struggling with hits. They lost the last two games of the series against the Orioles by a score of 6-2. But what hurt even more was losing their most reliable hitter, Luis Arráez, to a wrist injury. However, Tony Vitello said he could have him back for Tuesday. San Francisco opted to hire a manager with no MLB experience but who is very skilled in team management and sabermetrics; it's still too early to say whether the experiment was a success or not.
Robbie Ray will have another start; the well-known 34-year-old pitcher even looked excellent during the regular season. In 17.1 innings, he has a 2.08 ERA and struck out 18; he's still as prolific as ever, striking out 18 in those innings with his characteristic technique of keeping the ball hidden until the end.
As for the Reds, they'll stick with Singer; the Reds' #51 was roughed up by the Marlins' offense in his last start, failing to get past 2.2 innings.

Our Cincinnati Reds vs San Francisco Giants Prediction
With such poor hitting, it's no surprise the Giants have won six games. This game is difficult to predict, as both teams have 3-2 records in Game 1s so far. In this case, analyzing the pitching matchup is the most sensible approach, and the numbers favor Ray.
Even so, it seems like a risky business to rely on this ineffective Giants offense. Brady Singer at least pitched four innings in his first game of the year at Great American Ball Park. It's likely to be a low-scoring game.
Our prediction for Giants vs Reds is: Under 9.
