The Chicago Cubs host the San Francisco Giants at Wrigley Field on Friday afternoon in the opening contest of a three game series.
The Cubs come into the game off the back of a narrow 7-6 victory over the Athletics on Thursday night, but still find themselves down in fourth place in the ultra-tight NL Central division. It has been a tough few weeks for Chicago and despite last night's success they have still only won four of their last 18 games.
The Giants are currently in fourth place in the NL West with a dismal 25-38 record, but they have shown signs of improvement over the last week and come into this game on the back of consecutive victories over the Brewers. Remarkably, San Francisco have won each of their last seven games against the Cubs, so will be confident of victory on Friday despite their underdog status.
