However, Gamer Two went to the Giants yesterday, ending their six-game losing streak. Landen Roupp got them on the right foot with five shutout innings to start the game, earning his seventh win of the season.
But if the Giants are going to start a new streak, they’ll need Justin Verlander to do something he has not done all season—win. The former ace has struggled this year, going 0-8 in 16 starts with a 4.99 ERA, 1.51 WHIP, and .288 OBA. His struggles have been at their worst on the road, where he is 0-3 in seven road starts with a 5.67 ERA and .318 OBA. Atlanta will give the ball to Spencer Strider to start the day. Strider is 4-7 in 12 starts with a 3.59 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and .211 OBA. He has done his best work at home, where he is 3-3 in six starts with a 2.75 ERA and .221 OBA.

My first thought was to go with the OVER because neither pitcher is overly impressive, but then I decided to go with the Braves runline. Justin Verlander is a former award winner, but that guy has been long gone. He has struggled throughout the season, and I expect the Braves will get to him early and often today. The Giants bullpen is stellar, so things will quiet down once he’s pulled, but they’ll do enough damage to win by two before he’s gone.
