The St. Louis Cardinals (38-31, 19-16 Home) will try to get back on the right side of the scoreboard as they return home for a three-game series vs. the San Diego Padres (37-33, 18-14 Away). St. Louis got off to a solid start in their road trip with a pair of wins over the Mets in New York. But then they dropped the series finale and lost two of three to the Minnesota Twins in Minneapolis, including the series finale on Sunday, 5-4. As for the Padres, they kicked off a nine-game road trip with a weekend series in Baltimore, where they took two of three vs. the Orioles.

The Cardinals are scheduled to turn to Dustin May to get the homestand off on the right foot. May is 4-6 in 13 starts with a 4.21 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP. He is 2-3 at home in seven starts with a 4.85 ERA and a .280 OBA. He faced the Padres in San Diego earlier in the year (May 9) and took the loss after pitching six innings and allowing just three hits, three runs (two earned), and a home run.
