The Padres are hoping to extend their win streak to 4 games with a win in this Friday night game before facing these Mets in game 2 on Saturday night. The Mets, on the other hand, are looking to get their 2nd 3-game win streak of this month with a win Friday night. Jose Quintana (1-5, 5.29) will be on the hump for the Mets. He has now gone 10 games without a win and has not given up more than 3 runs in 5 straight games. Adam Mazur will get his 3rd career start here for the Padres. After going 6 innings and allowing just 1 run in his debut against the Angels, he was served 8 runs on 8 hits against the Diamondbacks in his last start. It will be tough for him to bounce back against this Mets lineup who is in the top 15 in combined batting average.
