The Minnesota Twins will host the San Diego Padres in a three-game series at Target Field in Minneapolis this weekend. Game One is scheduled for tonight at 8:10 p.m. EST.

San Diego will look to turn things around after losing three of their last four, including two in Seattle. At 75-59, they are in comfortable control of one of three NL wildcard slots, but there is a lot of baseball left to be played. As for the Twins, this is their first game at home after a 2-4 road trip. Nestor Cortes is scheduled to start for the Padres. Cortes has a 2-2 record in six starts with a 4.66 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, and .224 OBA. However, he has struggled on the road, where he is 0-1 in three starts with an 8.74 ERA and .326 OBA. But since being acquired by San Diego, he is 1-1 in four starts with a 3.0 ERA. He one-hit the Dodgers his last time out (Aug. 23). As for the Twins, Zebby Mathews is scheduled to start. He has gone 3-4 this season in 11 starts with a 5.30 ERA, 1.52 WHIP, and .288 OBA. But he has been better at home, where he is 1-1 with a 4.42 ERA and .270 OBA.
