The Los Angeles Dodgers drew first blood on Saturday, coming from behind to beat the San Diego Padres in Game 1 of their National League Division Series. In his first postseason game, Dodgers designated hitter Shohei Ohtani delivered a three-run homer in the second inning that tied the game at 3-3 and changed the complexion of the game. Tommy Edman then came through with two key hustle plays, scoring on a wild pitch in 4th and then driving a run in the 5th inning to give his team a 7-5 lead. On the other hand, rookie hurler Yoshinobu Yamamoto struggled in his postseason debut, throwing five earned runs in 3.0 innings. The Padres might still be punching the air after they could not sustain an early 3-0 lead. San Diego designated hitter Luiz Arraez went 1-for-5 and Jake Cronenworth finished the game without a hit in three at-bats. Dylan Cease, who posted a 3.47 ERA in the regular season, surrendered 5 earned runs in his second career postseason start.
