Los Angeles Angels vs San Diego Padres Prediction & Picks - MLB

There have been two different outcomes in the 1st two games of the series between the Los Angeles Angels (11-11) and the San Diego Padres (14-7).

In game one, the Angels won in dominating fashion, 8-0. Jose Soriano picked up his 5th win by going 5.2 innings of scoreless work. The bullpen was great in their cleanup work. In game two, the script was flipped, and the Padres were able to pick up the win. German Marquez did not factor into the decision, but pitched 5.2 scoreless innings. His bullpen came in and helped lead the Padres to a 4-1 victory.

In both previous cases, there was one team that was completely shut down, and the total was kept from going over the number. Today, both starting pitchers have the arsenal to shut down the opposing lineup.

Michael King will bring his 2.78 ERA to the table for the Padres. King is coming off 6 innings of quality work against the Mariners on Tuesday. He picked up the win after going 6 innings and holding the Mariners to just 1 run. He will be opposed today by the Angels’ Reid Detmers. He also picked up a win in his last start. He held the Yankees to 1 run over 7 innings while striking out 7.
