Atlanta is expected to have Martin Perez come off the IL to start. Perez has been on the IL with a bruised forearm since July 6. He has a 6-6 record in 18 appearances (14 starts) with a 3.54 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP. He is 3-4 in ten appearances (seven starts) at home with a 2.98 ERA and a .205 OBA.

If you are looking at yesterday’s score and how well both teams have hit since the break and thinking “no way!” I get it. Had both lineups not been held in check in Monday’s matchup, I’d agree. But since they did, that tells me good pitching can win the day. I’m more concerned about Perez than King since Perez is coming off the IL without a rehab start, and allowed 3+ runs in each of his last three starts. King has allowed four total runs across his last three. But Perez is a solid pitcher, especially at home, so I think he’ll get the job done today.
