This is another season in which MLB has scheduled a couple of games in Mexico in its effort to internationalize the game. The last few times they've played in the neighboring country, both bettors and sportsbooks have immediately taken notice, as Alfredo Harp Helú Stadium is not only small in size but also located at a much higher altitude than the Colorado Rockies' stadium, likely leading to more home runs.

With that in mind, sportsbooks set a very high total of over 15.5 runs for the first game of the series between the Padres and Diamondbacks at home. However, as in other years, it seems they were a bit too optimistic, as Saturday's game between the D-backs and Padres ended 4-6 in favor of San Diego.

Arizona scored all of its runs in the second inning, but once again the Padres' excellent bullpen kept things close while they clawed their way back into the game. In the end, the only players to hit home runs on the day were Ty France, who hit two, and Alek Thomas, who hit his second of the season.
