Two teams hoping to do better on Wednesday evening are San Diego FC and the San Jose Earthquakes. Both teams are currently in the top nine, but neither side is yet comfortable in terms of securing a play-off spot. The hosts are in the better position, sitting five points ahead of Wednesday's visitors, but they'll be keen to bounce back after tasting defeat last time out. The visitors have now gone eight league games without winning, which is worrying.

This game could be another decent opportunity for the in-form Elias Achouri, who has hit the ground running since joining from Copenhagen, to find the net. The Tunisian forward has already scored two goals for his new club, showing that he has more than enough quality to make Major League Soccer his playground.
