Roberto Bautista Agut of Spain will lock horns with Frances Tiafoe of the United States in the second round of the 2025 Hamburg Open.
Bautista-Agut vanquished Marcos Giron of the United 7-6(5) 6-0 to reach the second round in Hamburg. After failing to move past the second round in every clay-court tournament he competed this year, the Spaniard has a chance on Wednesday to break that curse with a win over Tiafoe.
Tiafoe scored a straight-set victory over Bu Yunchaokete of China 7-5 6-2 to advance into the round-of-16 of this ATP 250 event. The victory improved Tiafoe’s clay-court record this year to 7-5, but most of all, it draws the American closer to the title in this short tournament in Hamburg.
