It's crunch time for Real Salt Lake in their quest to secure an MLS postseason place, and anything less than victory over Austin on Saturday night will put a serious dent in their ambitions. Following a run of five defeats in six games, Real are now three points off the Wild Card positions with just four regular season matches remaining. A leaky defence has been the big issue for Real coach Pablo Mastroeni. His side have gone eight games without a clean sheet, conceding several highly avoidable goals in the process.
Austin are already assured of a place in the postseason, and victory on Saturday will go a long way towards ensuring they avoid the prospect of a tricky Wild Card fixture. Last week's 2-1 victory over the Sounders was Austin's third win in four games, and given Real's stuttering form, they will be confident of notching up another three points this weekend.
