One of the big dogs will be back in action on Wednesday evening. That's right, it's the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League winners. Visiting the Parisians this time will be a Tottenham side that showed littl ability to mix it with top teams at the weekend, losing tamely away to Arsenal. In other words, the PSG boys look to have a serious opportunity to improve what is already a pleasing League Phase record. Luis Enrique defending champions have won three out of four since the competition renewed in September, leaving them in a healthy fifth position.

Spurs have also made a decent start to life on the continent this time around, winning two and tying two, which means that Thomas Frank's men have eight points to their name. The visitors currently sit in 10th place, meaning that they're only a single point outside of the all-important top eight. Unfortunately, if the men from North London fail to win in the French capital, which seems likely, they'll be in a less healthy position with only two games left to play.

For the most part, Luis Enrique's men have continued to be as strong as they were last season. They're typically top of Ligue 1 in France, losing only one of their first 13 league games. However, in recent weeks, the current UCL champions have stumbled a little, first tying with Lorient domestically, before losing to Bayern in front of a home crowd in the Champions League. They've since bounced back with consecutive league wins, but can they now get back to winning ways on the continent? Luckily for them, the visitors come into this game off the back of a defeat and may not be feeling too confident.

Wins really have been few and far between for the 2024/25 UEFA Europa League winners of late. After Thomas Frank's men beat Everton in the league back in late October, they lost two on the bounce, before beating Copenhagen in this competition. Sadly, that success did not act as a platform from which to build, with the Lilywhites disappointingly tying at home to Man United, before being thumped in the North London Derby last time out.

The inury picture for Thomas Frank is quite a bleak one right now. Yves Bissouma and Radu Dragusin continue to be out, while Brennan Johnson is suspended following his red card against Copenhagen. To be honest, I really am surprised that 'Both Teams to Score' can currently be snapped up at odds of -133. Such odds do not accurately reflect the chances of both teams notching in Paris, not for my money, and thus there's value on offer. After all, both teams have scored in each of PSG's last three UCL games, while these two teams have only failed to score once between them in the Champions League this season. Both teams also scored when the pair met in the UEFA Super Cup back in August.

At odds of +145, I'm also of the opinion that Spurs' Xavi Simons is a good bet to register a shot on target. The Dutch player is starting to look plenty more hungry, while he recently scored for the Netherlands and has registered a shot on target in each of his last two games for club and country, doing so on the break against Arsenal at the weekend. He ought to appreciate the likely open nature of this game, that's for sure.
