Matchday 30 of Ligue 1 wraps up with a highly anticipated showdown between Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Lyonnais. The match will take place this Sunday at the Parc des Princes. The Parisian club is more determined than ever to push through this final stretch. In addition to being well on its way to winning another French league title, it has just qualified for the Champions League semifinals. The team coached by Luis Enrique will be looking to end the week on a high note!
Lyon has a lot riding on the rest of the season. The club is still in the running to qualify for next season’s Champions League. Before the start of this new matchday, they sit in 5th place, just one point behind the top 4. Paulo Fonseca’s men managed to end a six-game winless streak in Ligue 1 by defeating FC Lorient last weekend (2-0). They will now be looking to pull off a major upset in the French capital.

PSG - Lyon: Form Analysis
PSG has been on a roll for the past few weeks. Having already won the UEFA Super Cup, the Intercontinental Cup, and the Champions Trophy, the Parisian club still has its sights set on more titles. It has just advanced to the Champions League semifinals after putting in a solid performance against Liverpool (aggregate score: 4-0).
The team coached by Luis Enrique is also well on its way to winning Ligue 1. With four wins in its last five matches, it sits comfortably at the top of the standings. Going into the weekend, PSG holds a four-point lead over RC Lens (2nd), but with one game in hand.
PSG has just qualified for the Champions League semifinals.
It’s a different story for Lyon! In the space of just a few weeks, the team has let slip some great opportunities to win trophies as the season winds down. After being eliminated in the quarterfinals of the French Cup following a penalty shootout against RC Lens, Lyon were also knocked out in the round of 16 of the Europa League by Celta Vigo (aggregate score: 1-3).
Lyon have also gone through a rough patch in Ligue 1, going six matches without a win. It wasn’t until last weekend that Paulo Fonseca’s men got back on track by defeating FC Lorient (2-0). They are currently in 5th place in the standings, just one point behind the top four.

PSG & Lyon Squad Analysis
Within the PSG squad, only Quentin Ndjantou is certain to be left out of the lineup for this upcoming Ligue 1 matchday. Nuno Mendes and Désiré Doué, who were substituted due to injury against Liverpool, remain doubtful, as does Fabian Ruiz. It would not be surprising to see Luis Enrique give some of his key players a rest following the Champions League match.
Illya Zabarnyi and Lucas Hernandez are expected to start in the Parisian defense. In midfield, Dro Fernández and Lee Kang-in could see some playing time. Up front, Bradley Barcola will be the one to watch. Returning from injury midweek, he provided an assist after coming off the bench at Anfield.
Bradley Barcola made a notable return in the Champions League with PSG.
As for Lyon, Nicolas Tagliafico is still suspended. He isn’t the only one missing, as Malick Fofana and Rémi Himbert are injured. It’s also unclear whether Pavel Sulc will be back for this trip to the French capital. Otherwise, we should see their usual starting lineup.
Dominik Greif will be in goal, alongside Clinton Mata and Moussa Niakhaté in central defense. Tyler Morton and Corentin Tolisso will look to shine in Lyon's midfield. Up front, Afonso Moreira and Endrick will be tasked with causing trouble for the Parisian defense. The latter, in fact, provided an assist in the previous Ligue 1 match against FC Lorient.

The team has an opportunity to maintain a comfortable lead over its closest rival: RC Lens. Unbeatable at the Parc des Princes in the French league, Luis Enrique’s squad isn’t likely to take it easy this Sunday evening in what promises to be a spectacular matchup. Lyon has struggled on the road in recent weeks.
