Fate rewarded football fans by giving them a Champions League Round of 16 matchup between Chelsea and PSG. It's a rematch of the Club World Cup, where the Blues were crowned champions in New York. Back then, with two goals from Palmer and another from Joao Pedro, Chelsea surprised a PSG side that had just won the previous Champions League final 5-0 and seemed invincible last summer.
Much has changed since then: PSG failed to reach the top eight in the league stage of this season's Champions League and had to play Monaco in the Round of 32, and the team from the principality proved more difficult than expected. There have also been changes at Chelsea; the Blues won the Club World Cup under the guidance of Italian manager Maresca, but now Liam Rosenior is at the helm. The English manager has done quite well since taking charge, winning his only Champions League match away from home, a 2-3 victory against Napoli in Italy.
The first leg will be played at the Parc des Princes, after Luis Enrique's team faced Monaco there for the third time in less than 20 days, this time losing 3-1. Now, the Parisians, accustomed to dominating Ligue 1, are just one point ahead of their pursuer, Nantes.

PSG - Chelsea: Form Analysis
Liam Rosenior has already defeated PSG in the past; he did so while managing Strasbourg in France. Now he controls a much deeper squad in the London club. Chelsea, on the other hand, is anything but intimidated by French teams; they have won their last six matches against Ligue 1 clubs.
Chelsea continues its Premier League campaign in the heated battle to secure a top-four finish. Furthermore, in the midst of a crucial March, Chelsea will play their fourth away game in Paris. They won their last two visits, and this match comes four days after Chelsea, with goals from Garnacho and Joao Pedro, defeated Wrexham in extra time, a game they would have preferred to avoid, and continued their FA Cup run.
Despite not playing the most brilliant football expected, PSG has reached the Champions League round of 16 every season since 2012/2013. Last season, they paved their way to the Champions League trophy by being the main nemesis of English clubs, eliminating Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Arsenal.

PSG & Chelsea Squad Analysis
It will be a star-studded duel on both sides. Dembélé came on as a substitute in PSG's last league defeat, a move that seems to suggest the Parisians' attacking trio will be Doue, Dembélé, and Kvaratskhelia. Barcola has been very clinical in front of goal, and it's obvious that Luis Enrique will give him plenty of playing time in the match, having scored 3 goals in PSG's last 4 games.
For Chelsea, after missing almost half of March, Cucurella has finally returned. The Spanish full-back has seen 68 minutes of action since his return. He will start against PSG and is well known for delivering in the most important matches.
Palmer will also be on the pitch for the Blues, but no one is in better form for the London club than João Pedro, as the Brazilian striker has scored 11 goals in his last 12 games for the Blues.
Fabian Ruiz is the most significant absence for PSG on Wednesday, while Estevao is sidelined with a muscle injury among Chelsea's absentees.

Our PSG vs Chelsea Prediction
The sustained winning streak that Luis Enrique's PSG enjoyed, which could have seen them win the Champions League in the 2024/2025 season, has not been replicated this season. In fact, PSG hasn't won three consecutive matches in 90 minutes since November 9-26 of last year.
In the Champions League, Chelsea has historically been, and was again in the last Club World Cup, a team that consistently disrupts the plans of other European heavyweights; four months ago, they beat Barcelona 3-0 in the Champions League. There has been a palpable improvement since Rosenior took over, as only Arsenal has managed to defeat the Blues since he assumed the role.
Our prediction for PSG vs Chelsea is: Chelsea to draw or win.
