One of the biggest MLS fixtures of the weekend sees playoff chasing Portland and Minnesota lock horns at Providence Park on Saturday night. Minnesota missed a great chance to move to the top of the table last week, as they fell to a 0-1 home defeat against LAFC. That defeat was the first in five games for Eric Ramsey's side, but they are still only two points behind table topping San Diego FC, so victory on Saturday night would keep them firmly in the title mix.
Two consecutive defeats have essentiall ended Portland's hopes of finishing top of the Conference. Their main priority for the rest of the Regular Season is to secure a top seven finish and an automatic place in the playoffs. They currently have a slender three point cushion over eighth place Austin, so they will be keen to get back to winning ways as soon as possible.
