After coming through with a close win 4-3 win in the series opener, the Texas Rangers aim for a back-to-back victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday at Globe Life Field. Corey Saeger delivered a home run in the first and third innings to power the Rangers to an early 4-0 lead. The Pirates got themselves within one run, 3-4 behind Jared Triolo’s three-run blast in the third. Jose Urena replaced Dane Dunning in the bottom 5th and blanked for the next four innings. Kirby Yates recorded the final three outs of the game to earn his 22nd save of the season and give the Rangers their second straight win. The Rangers improved their slate to 58-68, though they have a lot of catching up to do for them to overtake the Seattle Mariners (64-42) and the Houston Astros (68-56). The Pirates suffered their second straight loss and eight of their last 10 games, sending them further into the bottom of the NL Central standings with a 58-66 record.
