Milwaukee Brewers vs Pittsburgh Pirates Prediction & Picks - MLB

The Pittsburgh Pirates continue their road trip tonight as they begin a 4-game series in Milwaukee against the NL Central-leading Brewers. As of this moment, neither team has been involved in a big trade as the deadline nears.       

Milwaukee is hoping to have a better series this time around against these Pirates. Back in early July, they were swept and gave up a total of 24 runs to the Pirates. They are 9-5 since that series and still have a lead in their division. They are likely to need good run support in this one as they are starting Brandon Sproat. He is just 3-6 on the season and carries a large 5.05 ERA. His last outing against Pittsburgh ended after just 3 innings. This one could be similar.

On the flip side, the Pirates are hoping to continue their strong hitting against the Brewers. And that might be necessary in this opener as their starter is just as unreliable as the Brewers. Bubba Chandler will get the go and is coming off an outing against the Diamondbacks where he was pulled after just 4 innings and having allowed 3 runs. He is 3-8 on the year, and his ERA is just slightly lower than Sproat’s at 4.56.
