The Pirates have certainly enjoyed their series at Daikin Park against the Astros, as it's been a series where home runs have been the order of the day, turning the lead in their favor. After taking the first two games in Houston, they're looking to complete the sweep on the road in Game 3, which promises to be a slugfest.
Game 1 ended 10-6; in that game, O'Neil Cruz and Lowe both hit three-run homers. Cruz's homer was his 14th of the season and changed the game; Lowe's was his 15th of a very productive season and sealed the Astros' fate in that game.
Game 2 followed a similar pattern; the Astros had taken a 2-0 lead thanks to Skenes, the reigning NL Cy Young Award winner, but then in the fourth inning, Davis hit a towering go-ahead grand slam that landed right on the train tracks. In both of the Astros' losses, Yordan Álvarez's highly productive bat, as always, came through. The Cuban, despite his team being in last place, is having a phenomenal season with 21 home runs and a batting average over .300.

The Pirates brought in two of their flamethrowers as starters for this series, first Chandler and then Skenes, but it's their hitting that's the main reason they're winning games. Jared Jones is scheduled to start on Thursday.
Jones was returning from injury in his last start, his first in a long time after undergoing Tommy John surgery. Despite his control and numerous strikeouts, he allowed solid contact and looked somewhat rusty on the mound. Another high-scoring game seems likely in the series finale.
