The Pittsburgh Penguins will look to add to the Vancouver Canucks’ struggles when they meet on Sunday at Rogers Arena.
The Canucks recently set a franchise record with an 11-game losing streak and have won only two of their last 14 outings. They broke the streak on Wednesday against the Washington Capitals, but then lost again on Friday to the New Jersey Devils.
In Friday’s game, Vancouver tallied four goals for a second consecutive contest, but the defense let the team down, with New Jersey winning 5-4. In 2026, the Canucks have killed off barely 50 percent of their penalties, and they gave up two more power-play goals on Friday.
Pittsburgh is ranked third in the league with a 27.4 percent power play, so the Canucks must find a way to avoid penalties at all costs on Sunday.
The Penguins travel to Vancouver on the back of three consecutive wins and with a 4-0-2 record across their last six games. Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin look as good as ever, and the team is closing in on the top spot in the Metropolitan Division.
In the first meeting this season, Crosby scored a goal and Malkin had an assist against the Canucks. However, Penguins winger Justin Brazeau stole the show with a power-play goal and two assists in a 5-1 win.

Our Vancouver Canucks vs Pittsburgh Penguins Prediction
While the Canucks had some joy on Wednesday night against Washington, they have struggled to remain competitive for several weeks, and Pittsburgh would be disappointed to leave town with anything less than two points.
Since the holiday break, Dan Muse’s team has lost only four games and scored 16 goals in its last three. The Penguins are now up against the league’s weakest defense and should cruise past Vancouver.
Our prediction for Vancouver Canucks vs. Pittsburgh Penguins: Penguins to win in regulation.
