The Edmonton Oilers continue their eight-game homestand on Thursday by hosting the Pittsburgh Penguins at Rogers Place.
While Edmonton began its stretch of eight consecutive home games with an impressive 5-0 victory over the St. Louis Blues, the team suffered a major disappointment on Tuesday night. The New Jersey Devils came to town and left with a 2-1 victory. Arseny Gritsyuk had a goal and an assist, while Connor McDavid finished scoreless for only the third time since December.
Pittsburgh enjoyed a positive start to the week, beating the Seattle Kraken 6-3 on the road on Monday. Sidney Crosby produced two assists in his 1,400th career regular-season game. The veteran star has notched multiple points in three consecutive games and will be the focus of Edmonton’s defense.
The Oilers and Penguins meet for the second time this season. Edmonton won the first game 6-4 on Dec. 16, days after the teams swapped goalies. Tristan Jarry enjoyed a winning debut in the Oilers crease, stopping 26 of 30 shots.
Since moving to Edmonton, Jarry has posted a 4-1-1 record, a 2.48 goals-against average, a .904 save percentage, and one shutout. Stuart Skinner has gone 5-4-0 with the Penguins, allowing 2.49 goals with a .898 save percentage.

Our Edmonton Oilers vs Pittsburgh Penguins Prediction
With the total set at 6.5, a high-scoring game is expected between these two. However, the Oilers have been without Leon Draisaitl recently, which has reduced their offensive potential.
Defensively, Kris Knoblauch’s team has been world-class as of late. Edmonton posted shutouts in back-to-back games last weekend and has allowed three goals over the last four games.
Our prediction for Edmonton Oilers vs. Pittsburgh Penguins: Under 6.5 goals.
