One of the more intriguing fixtures due to take place in Major League Soccer's Eastern Conference on Saturday sees the Philadelphia Union take on the Columbus Crew. For the third game in a row, Jim Curtin's men came out on top last week, following high-scoring wins against Atlanta and DC with a more hard-fought win away to CF Montreal. That third straight MLS success laid the groundwork ahead of what was another ground-out win against Indy Eleven in the US Open Cup during the week. After four straight wins in all competitions, the hosts will be looking for more success.
The visitors also approach this game in very solid form. They've won each of their last two, flexing their offensive muscles by smashing in four goals on their way to beating Charlotte last weekend, a win that followed a win over San Jose that was probably a little more commanding than the 2-1 scoreline suggested. Can the Crew raise their game again and get another positive result? We'll find out at Subaru Park.
