The Philadelphia Phillies will try to become the next team to record ten wins when they face the Cardinals at Busch Stadium in St. Louis today. Fans can follow the action once the game gets underway at 2:15 p.m. EST.
After getting shut out in the first game of the series Friday (2-0), the Phillies bounced back with a 4-1 win over the Cards on Saturday. Christopher Sanchez held St. Louis to one run off eight hits and a pair of walks in 6 1/3 innings. A Nick Castellanos double in the top of the first plated two runs, giving Sanchez all the run support he needed. Philadelphia ended up tacking on a pair of insurance runs (one in the fifth and seventh), and the Cardinals got on the board with one in the sixth to make the final 4-1.
Zack Wheeler will get the start for the Phillies, his fourth of the season. He got his one win in his longest outing of the season to date vs. the Rockies (seven innings, three hits (one home run), one run, and ten strikeouts). He’s given up a home run in every game. St. Louis will go with Matthew Liberatore. While he lasted 6+ innings in his two starts, he’s given up 14 hits and eight runs between the two games.

Cardinals projected starter Mathew Liberatore has yet to walk anyone and has given up 14 hits and eight runs in two outings. Wheeler got shelled in his last outing, but I don’t think that will happen again. He’s a solid pitcher, and the Cards' lineup has been struggling to generate some offense.
