In Sunday's series finale at Petco Park, the San Diego Padres look to complete a three-game sweep of the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Padres have gone 4-1 in their last five assignments, raising their record to 52-43. Although they are still 4.5 games behind the 57-39 Dodgers, San Diego will have entered the All-Star break with momentum if they can pull off a sweep of the Phillies on their home field. Despite being hampered by a lethargic offense (3.5 runs per game), the Padres have found ways to gut out wins through strong pitching and some clutch hitting from Manny Machado. San Diego has carried a 3.40 ERA in their last five games, while Machado delivered the game-winning hits in both Game 1 (4-2) and Game 2 (5-4) against the Phillies.

The Phillies have conceded the No.1 spot in the NL East after a rocky week that saw them lose four of their last five games. Philadelphia is still putting up elite numbers on the mound, posting a 3.40 ERA in the five-game stretch. Their offense isn’t bad either, with an average of 4.6 points per game on a .266 BA in the stretch. Even with above-average numbers in offense and defense, the Phillies still experienced a bad week because of their incompetent bullpen, which gave up a 5.91 ERA in 5 games.
