The Philadelphia Phillies will continue their West Coast road trip with a three-game series in San Diego vs. the Padres at Petco Park. Game 1 of the series will get underway tonight, and fans can catch the action on the MLB Network at 9:40 p.m. EST.

Philadelphia’s road trip began in San Francisco with a three-game series vs. the Giants. It did not get off to a good start for the Phillies as they lost the first game 3-1 and the second game 4-3. But they made a solid statement in the series finale, winning 13-0. The Padres have gone 4-3 during their current homestand, winning two vs. the Rangers and going 2-2 vs. the D-backs.

This game may turn into a pitcher’s duel with the guys taking the mound to start. For Philly, it’s Ranger Suarez. He’s got a 7-2 record in 12 starts with a 1.99 ERA and 1.03 WHIP. He’s been at his best on the road, going 4-2 in six starts with a 1.06 ERA and .177 OBA. The Padres are set to go with Ryan Bergert, fresh off the DL. He has gone 1-0 in five starts (nine appearances) with a 2.67 ERA and 1.15 WHIP. However, he has not been great at home this season. In two appearances, including one start, he has a 6.75 ERA (four innings) and a .333 OBA.
