The Philadelphia Phillies will try to avoid getting swept by the New York Mets when the two teams meet today at Citi Field in Queens, NY. First Pitch for this NL East battle is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. EST. New York took Game One in commanding fashion on Monday with a 13-3 victory, which they followed up with another win, 6-5. With Tuesday’s win, the Mets improved to 71-61. They are still five games back of the Phillies (76-56) in the NL East. However, the Mets have been playing the Phillies well and have five more games to go against them.

With hopes of getting things turned around vs. the Mets, the Phillies will give Taijuan Walker the ball to start the day. Walker is 4-6 in 16 starts (27 appearances) with a 3.44 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, and .249 OBA. He has done some of his best work on the road, going 2-2 in eight starts (13 appearances) with a 2.63 ERA and .249 OBA. For the Mets, young Nolan McLean is scheduled to start. McLean only has two starts under his belt, but he’s won both (2-0) and has an excellent ERA (1.46), a .81 WHIP, and a .146 OBA.
