The Mets return to Citi Field after finishing the regular season and playing away games in each of their last 9 games. Tuesday will be Game 3 of the division series that the Phillies and Mets are currently splitting at one game apiece.
In Game 2 the Mets almost came back in the late innings with another rally like they did against the Braves in the penultimate game of the regular season to secure the playoffs and also like they did against the Brewers in the final game of the wild card series. They also did it in Game 1 against the Phillies with 5 runs in the 8th inning. A home run by Vientos in the 9th inning tied the game 6-6, but later in that same inning with a hit by Castellanos the Phillies would win in a game where there were 6 HRs and more than 20 strikeouts.
Nola is expected to start Game 3 for the Phillies in Queens in what would be his 34th start of the season. He last pitched against the Mets on Sept. 13 and was hammered by them, allowing 6 ER and 2 HRs in 4.1 IP.
