The Mets have gone 4-6 to this point in the month of May. They avoided a 3-game sweep from the Braves on Sunday by picking up a 4-3 win on the back of a comeback in the 9th after trailing 3-2. Brandon Nimmo blasted a 2-run homerun off AJ Minter to get the walk-off win. Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso added 2 hits each with a double each in the win. The Phillies are 8-2 in May and are currently the best team in baseball. They lost a tough one in extra innings against the Marlins on Sunday. Zach Wheeler had his worst outing of the season in this one. He went just 4 innings and allowed 6 runs on 6 hits. His 2 strikeouts were outweighed by his 3 walks. In this one, they will have Christopher Sanchez (2-3, 3.22) going and is coming off a solid 7 inning win over the Blue Jays in his last start. The Mets will have Sean Manaea (2-1, 3.31) as their starter. Manaea is fresh off his 2nd win of the season. He pitched 6 innings and gave up 3 runs on 6 hits against the Cardinals. Oddly, it was the least number of strikeouts he has thrown all year that factored into his 2nd win.
