Miami Marlins vs Philadelphia Phillies Prediction & Picks - MLB

The Miami Marlins are hosting the Philadelphia Phillies this week for a 3-game series in the NL East division. Tonight will be game two of the series, after the Marlins walked it off last night.

In the previous game, the Phillies did not get what they normally expect from their ace, Zach Wheeler. He went only 3 innings and allowed 5 earned runs on 6 hits. Heriberto Hernandez led the way for the Marlins offense. He finished the game going 2-5 with a home run and 3 RBIs. Tyler Phillips pitched decently but did not pick up the win. He went 5 innings and allowed 2 runs on 3 hits. After the Phillies fought back from a 3-run deficit and took a 2-run lead into the 9th inning, Jhoan Duran came in to close things out, but was unsuccessful. The Marlins scored 3 runs off him and walked it off on a Griffin Conine single. 0

Tonight, the Marlins will start Sandy Alcantara, who is coming off a rocky start in his last outing. He allowed 5 runs on 9 hits in 7 innings against the Astros. He picked up his 6th loss of the season after that outing. The Phillies will turn to veteran Aaron Nola, who is also coming off a tough one, albeit against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
