Game two of the 3-game series between the Philadelphia Phillies (50-39) and the Kansas City Royals (35-54) will take place this afternoon at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City.

The Phillies took care of business in game one last night. Jesus Luzardo pitched 6 innings and held the Royals to just 1 run on 4 hits. He was in control the entire game and struck out 9 batters without a single walk. The long ball was the method the Phillies used to score the majority of their runs in the 6-1 win. Rincones, Realmuto, and Bohm all homered in the win. They will likely need more offense in game two, as they will have Aaron Nola on the mound, who has not been having his best season.

Kansas City has been really struggling lately. They have lost 8 of their last 9 games after the loss last night. While the wins have been few and far between, this matchup with the Phillies could be one where they could sneak out a win. However, they will likely need to do so by scoring a solid number of runs. They will be starting Luinder Avila will be the starter and he is carrying a 5.40 ERA on the year and is coming off a game where he allowed 4 runs in 4 innings against the White Sox.
