Another highly anticipated series will take place this afternoon in Chicago when the Cubs and Phillies face off.

The Dodgers, Padres, D-backs, and Rangers are some of the MLB heavyweights the Cubs have defeated and emerged victorious. Their 16-10 record against the magnitude of their rivals is impressive, so much so that the betting experts already list them among the top 10 teams to win the World Series this season. The Cubs' hot bats seem to be perpetuating themselves, and the power hits that were once moderate are now plentiful and seem habitual. The atmosphere at Wrigley Field in 2025 is festive and electric, with a fairly high average crowd.

The Phillies are also an MLB heavyweight, but they had a truly miserable time on their visit to Citi Field, where they were swept by the Mets and even seemed grumpy. The Mets' pitching dominated any opponent that traveled to Queens, and the Phillies were no exception. They lost the last game of the series to the Marlins in Philadelphia, and after being swept in New York, they have now lost four straight. But they won't even get a break when they face the Cubs, who are coming off a victory over the Dodgers on April 22 and 23.
