Boston Red Sox vs Philadelphia Phillies Prediction & Picks - MLB

Boston (34-34) has been .500 for most of the season, mainly for exactly what they have done against the Phillies (46-21) in this series. After dropping game one 4-1, they bounced back and took game two 8-6. After putting up a run in the 1st against Zach Wheeler, the Red Sox were unable to put another one across the board in game one and saw Kyle Schwarber send 2 long balls over the fence to lead the Phillie offense. In game two, after falling behind 4-0, the Red Sox rallied back and scored 8 runs in the 4-6 innings. Nick Pivetta was lifted after 4 innings for Boston and the case was the same for Chistopher Sanchez of the Phillies. The teams combined for 22 total hits and 14 runs in game two. For the rubber-game, Philadelphia will send Aaron Nola (8-2, 2.77) out to face Tanner Houck (6-5, 1.91). Nola was amazing against the Brewers in his last start. He pitched 7 scoreless innings and struck out 5 while allowing just 2 hits. Houck tied his strikeout high this season with 9 in his last start which came against the White Sox. He faced the Tigers in his start previous to that one, so he could be in for a rude awakening from this stout Phillies lineup.
