The Baltimore Orioles (53-56, 29-27 Home) will try to get a game closer to .500 tonight when they host the Philadelphia Phillies (57-52, 29-25 Away) at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Fans can follow the action on MLB.TV once the game gets underway at 7:05 p.m. EST.
Baltimore would love to get a little forward momentum going with a second consecutive win. They are coming off a win over the Tigers but have alternated wins and losses since the tail end of their series vs. the Red Sox in Boston. As for the Phillies, they just want to get back on the right side of the scoreboard after getting swept by the Marlins and losing seven of their last eight.
It is not clear who will start for the Phillies tonight, but some sportsbooks have Andrew Painter listed. Painter is 1-8 in 14 appearances and 12 starts this season with a 7.06 ERA, a 1.66 WHIP, and a .316 OBA.
As for the Orioles, Baltimore is expected to give Brandon Young the start. Young is 8-2 in 17 starts with a 3.13 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP. He has gone 2-1 at home with a 2.85 ERA and a .249 OBA.

Getting out of a slump is never easy, and while it isn’t impossible when you're playing a team that is playing well, don’t count on it. I’m a little concerned that the Orioles have hit just .206 at the plate over the last week and scored 23 runs in their last five games. But Painter is the perfect pitcher for them to break out against. Philly has hit a respectable .258 over the last week, but didn’t do much more than the Orioles (25 runs in five games). Since neither lineup is encouraging right now, I’m betting on the better pitcher to win this game.
