After the Mets decided to win and end their ludicrous 12-game losing streak, the Phillies have been left with the worst losing streak in MLB. The Phillies, who were favored to win the NL East in preseason betting, have lost 10 straight games, and their 8-18 record is sinking them dangerously close to the bottom of their division.

Bryce Harper is the face of these Phillies and the first person interviewers will ask about the streak. The first baseman, also a member of the U.S. national team at the last World Baseball Classic, said he's "never been in a situation like this in his career." This is true, but despite the team's struggles, he is putting in a lot of effort to help them recover, and he hit his sixth home run of the season in the 3-5 loss to the Braves in Game 1.

The thing is, those Braves are all unusually healthy. Although their star, Ronald Acuña, hasn't necessarily been the Braves' most likely offensive catalyst this season, the Venezuelan superstar did have his best game of 2016 against their rivals, the Phillies. He went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs in the series opener.
