Brazilian club Palmeiras, currently third in Serie A Betano, two points behind leaders Flamengo but with a game in hand, won 4-1 against Fortaleza this weekend, thanks in particular to a brace from Pereira. River Plate lost its first place in Group B of the Torneo Betano to Dep. Riestra following its defeat at Atl. Tucuman (2-0) on Sunday. This is their second consecutive defeat after losing the Copa Libertadores quarter-final first leg at home to Palmeiras (1-2). In this international competition, Gallardo's team has lost four points away from home against Ind. del Valle (2-2) and Libertad (0-0).
