The LA Clippers host the Oklahoma City Thunder tonight, and the Clippers closed their season on a tear. They won every game in April (finishing 7–0 last month) and finished 50–32, good enough for 5th in the Western Conference. In the final game on April 13, James Harden scored 39 points in an overtime win at Golden State, and Ivica Zubac had 17 rebounds – part of a late-season hot streak.
The Clippers have been winning by double digits regularly; for example, they won their last seven games (including victories over Sacramento, Dallas, Houston and Golden State). Oklahoma City was the dominant team of the league. They reportedly finished with a 68–14 record and even won the championship according to season summaries. The Thunder won almost every game, often by large margins (StatMuse data suggests they went 68–14). In their last head-to-head of the season, Oklahoma City barely beat LA 103–101 on March 23 in Los Angeles – a very tight game.
Both teams were playing exceptionally late-season basketball. The Thunder hold the better regular-season record and have championship-winning form. However, the Clippers will be at home and have a potent offense themselves. In a close game (as their March meeting suggests), home-court advantage could be crucial.

Our Oklahoma City Thunder vs LA Clippers Prediction
Key players for the Clippers have been Kawhi Leonard and James Harden. Leonard put up big scoring games multiple times – he had 28 against New Orleans on April 2 and 33 points in wins over Cleveland (Apr 18) and Brooklyn (Mar 28). Harden has been the floor leader, dishing assists and scoring (29 points and 10 assists in that final road win, and 35 points against Houston). Center Ivica Zubac also logged several double-doubles (19 boards on Apr 12, 17 boards in final game).
For Oklahoma City, star guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been the engine – he averaged over 30 points in many games, including 30 points in wins on Nov 2 and Nov 11, and nine assists often. Rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama anchored the defense and contributed with rebounds (he had 14 boards on Nov 2 against San Antonio) and finishing at the rim. Other contributors like Luguentz Dort and Jalen Williams chipped in scoring nights.
Still, overall metrics give the slight edge to Oklahoma City due to their superior record and depth of star power. If Shai and Wemby have their usual impact and the Thunder's offense flows, OKC will likely win. But if the Clippers maintain their hot streak and home momentum, they can keep it extremely competitive. On balance, the Thunder appear to have a small edge given their consistency all year. Our prediction for LA Clippers vs Oklahoma City Thunder: Over 223.5 points.
