Oklahoma City enters this game with a 3-2 series lead after beating Indiana on Monday night at home by a score of 120-109. With that win on Monday, the Thunder are now one game away from an NBA title. Oklahoma City had four players score in double figures in Game 5, which was headlined by Jalen Williams, who scored a game-high 40 points, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who scored 31 points.
As for Indiana, their backs are to the wall now, as this is a must-win game if they want to extend the series to a Game 7. The Pacers had a total of five players score in double figures, including Pascal Siakam, who scored a team-high 28 points.

Oklahoma City has won the last two games in the series and three of the last four games to put themselves in a prime position to win the NBA Finals. Over their last two wins, the Thunder’s defense has turned it on, allowing 106.5 points per game.

After taking a 1-0 lead and a 2-1 lead, the Pacers have since struggled to contain both Jalen Williams and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The Pacers have already won one game at home in this series (Game 3) and will need to increase their intensity if they are going to extend this series.

To no surprise, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been the backbone of this Thunder roster. In the playoffs, Gilgeous-Alexander is averaging 30.4 points per game, and in the NBA Finals, he is averaging 32.4 points per game.
However, it is not only Gilgeous-Alexander who is putting up big scores. The second-best player for the Thunder has been Jalen Williams, who is averaging 21.7 points per game in the playoffs and 25.8 points per game in the NBA Finals.

The Pacers are a much more balanced team and need multiple players to score in order to be effective. Pascal Siakam has been the most consistent player for the Pacers in the NBA Finals, as he is averaging 20.6 points per game.
Of course, Tyrese Haliburton has been the most clutch player for the Pacers, but he is coming off his worst performance in the postseason, scoring just 4 points and failing to make a shot from the field. Keep in mind that Haliburton appeared to be injured throughout Game 5 after a hard fall in the first half. If he is less than 100% for Game 6, the Pacers are likely going to struggle to keep up with the Thunder’s superstars.

Over the first few games of this series, it looked like the Pacers had a real chance to take control. However, things have since turned after Indiana gave away Game 4 at home. The Pacers went on to get crushed in Game 5 on the road and now are back at home with the chance to force a Game 7.
As good as Indiana has been at home, the Thunder are starting to wear down the Pacers and assert their dominance. They have been the best team all season and have the best player on the court (Gilgeous-Alexander). Paired with Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren, the Thunder have the advantage over the Pacers in just about every area.
