The Athletics are missing most of their stars; they're all out with injuries: Soderstrom, Langeliers, Wilson, and Rooker, among others, are all out; it's no surprise the A's have been struggling ever since. After being swept by the Orioles in their series in Sacramento, they're in Texas to play the Rangers in the second game of the series, which also kicks off September.

Groom, Gore, and Bradford are the likely trio of starters the Rangers will use in this important series at Globe Life Field. The Rangers had a rollercoaster of results in August, but it kept their playoff hopes alive.

In the final game of the series, the Rangers salvaged a crucial third game against the Brewers in Milwaukee; Pederson and Duran both homered. Corey Seager seems to be finding his rhythm at the plate when it matters most. Since August 15 alone, Seager has had seven multi-hit games.
