The 3rd year catcher blasted 3 homers on 4 at-bats and accounted for all 4 RBIs in the game. Nathan Eovaldi pitched well for the Rangers, going 5.2 IP and striking out 8 before getting lifted. JP Sears for the As will get the start Thursday and will look to have a better day than his initial 2 starts. He is sitting with an 8.68 ERA and has walked 3 batters while striking out just 2. The Rangers will counter with Jon Gray who has yet to last more than 3.2 IP in his 1st two stats. He did go without an earned run his last start after being blasted for 5 in his season debut. They may need to relay on their bats which is what has helped them early. As a team, the Rangers are 4th in MLB, hitting .272 and slugging .354. The same cannot be said for the As who are near the bottom of the league in both with .207 and .285.

The Rangers are hitting at a good clip to start the season and JP Sears just doesn’t seem to have his best stuff just yet. This should all lead to a comfortable win for the Rangers in this final game of their series. If the Rangers are to lose Wednesday night and need this game to avoid the sleep, we would likely encourage a small play on the Rangers -1.5 run line as well.
