The New York Yankees will host the Athletics in Game Three of their weekend series today at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, NY. Gametime for this AL East-AL West showdown is schedules for 1:35 p.m. EST.

Both starting pitchers in this one will be looking for a little redemption. A’s starter Luis Severino spent most of his formative years with the Yankees. But after his eighth season, where he went 4-8 with a career-worst 6.65 ERA, the Bronx Bombers moved on from him. He pitched well for the Mets the following year (11-7 with a 3.91 ERA) but has not been stellar for the A’s this season (2-8 in 17 starts with a 4.83 ERA. The Yankees roughed him up earlier in the year, on May 11, for nine hits and eight runs over four innings (NY won 12-2)

Marcus Stroman will take the mound for the Yankees for just the fourth time this season; his last appearance lasted just 2/3 of an inning vs. the Giants on April 11. In all, he has pitched 9 1/3 innings this season and has an ERA of 11.57. Last season, his first with the Yankees, was his first full season with an ERA over 4.0 since 2018. Injuries have kept him sidelined for most of the season.
